Art History

Art history can be dated back to the very beginning of man's existence, with cave drawings and paintings which many times depicted daily activities or very specific events in their life. The Egyptians were one of the first civilizations which too great pride in art and many believe a pharaoh's life achievements were painted on their walls and tombs much like we keep a journal or blog today.

Art itself has evolved through the ages, there is the Greek period followed by Roman art where sculptures played a great part in their art culture. During the dark and middle ages there isn't very much art that is now present in art history. The Renaissance brought along a great number of famous artists and masterpieces along with the interest in art and self-portraits, many kings and nobles often had their personal artist that would accompany them in their royal duties.
